Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about EntryThingy
What is EntryThingy?
EntryThingy is call for entry software that helps galleries, museums, and art organizations manage exhibition opportunities and submissions from artists.
How does pricing work?
EntryThingy uses a token-based system. Each submission costs one token ($3). There are no monthly fees, setup fees, or hidden costs. You only pay for what you use.
Who uses EntryThingy?
EntryThingy serves two main groups: galleries and art organizations that post calls for entry, and artists who submit their work to exhibition opportunities.
How do artists find calls for entry?
Artists can browse active calls on the public calls list at entrythingy.com/calls_list/. Galleries can also choose to publish their calls directly on their own website using our widget.
How does entry fee collection work?
Entry fee collection from artists is always free. Galleries can integrate with payment processors to collect submission fees. EntryThingy never takes a percentage of entry fees.
What file formats are supported?
EntryThingy supports images (JPG, PNG, GIF), videos (MOV, MP4), audio (MP3), and documents (PDF, DOC). Galleries can configure which file types they accept for each call.
How does the jury system work?
Galleries can invite jurors who can review and vote on submissions. The system supports blind jury mode (hiding artist names), customizable voting scales, and vote-by-entry or vote-by-piece options.
What is blind jury mode?
Blind jury mode hides artist identifying information from jurors during the review process. Jurors see entries by number instead of by artist name, ensuring unbiased evaluation based solely on the artwork.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes! Galleries can use custom domains for their EntryThingy pages. This allows you to maintain your brand identity while using EntryThingy's submission management features.
Do artists get portfolio features?
Yes! Artists can manage their artwork portfolio, create a public display link to share their work, and easily copy pieces from their portfolio when applying to calls.
How do email notifications work?
EntryThingy automatically sends email notifications for key events like submission confirmations. Galleries can also send custom email campaigns to entrants using the built-in email system.
Can I export my data?
Yes! Galleries can download submission data as CSV files, including custom fields, artwork information, and jury votes. You can also download individual pieces or create custom exports.
How do I get started?
For galleries: Sign up for a free account at app.entrythingy.com/signup and create your first call for entry.
For artists: Browse open calls at app.entrythingy.com/calls_list/ and create an account when you're ready to submit to a call.
How do I reset my password?
Go to app.entrythingy.com/login and click "Forgot Password". Enter your email and we'll send you a secure reset link. Click the link (it expires in 30 minutes) to set a new password. If you don't see the email, check your spam folder.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Log in, go to your profile settings, and scroll to the Danger Zone section to permanently delete your account. Deletion removes all your data and automatically cancels any active subscription. This action cannot be undone — if you only want to stop paying, consider cancelling your subscription instead.
How do subscriptions and cancellation work for artists?
Artists can manage their subscription from the Subscription page (click your name → Subscription). Annual billing is available and saves 20% vs monthly. You can cancel anytime — your access continues until the end of the billing period, and your artwork is never deleted when you cancel.
